YOUR OPINION MATTERS - Dresden's Comprehensive Plan Update
Village of Dresden's Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Planning Committee and Rob Richardson with the Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council are working on an update of the Village of Dresden's Comprehensive Plan.
A survey has been mailed to all village-owned residents and businesses to fill out and return it to the Village Clerks Office by December 20, 2024.
Please take the time to fill this out because
YOUR OPINION MATTERS!!!!
We want to know what you think of our village and what you would like to see for the future of Dresden.
If you do not receive a survey in the mail within a couple of weeks, please stop by the Village Clerks Office and get one. We cannot stress enough that each one of YOUR OPINION MATTERS.
Let's make Dresden a place where people want to live and enjoy beautiful Seneca Lake, and all that the area has to offer.

Mayor William Hall Retired
William Hall retired as Mayor after serving in the position for 11 1/2 years - Thank you Bill for your many years of dedication and changes made to our beautiful Village.

Welcome Brian Flynn as Mayor
Brian Flynn has served as a Trustee and Deputy Mayor since 2017 - he has been appointed as Mayor after William Hall announced his retirement.

If so, the Village of Dresden is looking for a Planning Board and a Zoning Board member. Planning Board Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month and the Zoning Board Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. This is a volunteer position and applicants must be a Village of Dresden resident. Interested parties, please send a letter addressed to Mayor Hall and the Board of Trustees to: Village of Dresden PO Box 15, Dresden NY 14441 or email at villageclerk@villageofdresden.org

Two Concrete benches that have been at the end of Seneca St at the loop have been vandalized and removed - If anyone has any information please contact the Sherriff's Office or the Village Office
If you see something going on in our community that you know is not right (ex: vandalism, teenagers/adults hanging at the playground after dusk etc) please report it to the police - it needs to be documented!!

About Dresden
Dresden is a village in Yates County, New York, USA. The population was 308 at the 2010 census. The village was named after Dresden in Germany.
The Village of Dresden is in the Town of Torrey and is twelve miles south of Geneva, New York. Dresden is located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.
Dresden was founded in 1811 as a planned community. The Village of Dresden was incorporated July 16 1867.
Dresden was the eastern terminus for the former Crooked Lake Canal, which operated from 1833 to 1877. This canal linked the area through other lake canals to the Erie Canal.
The Robert Ingersoll Birthplace and Christopher Willis House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Visit the local history museum - Robert Ingersoll Museum.
Walk the Outlet Trail, following the former canal and ruins of mills.
Visit the many Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries that are within a short distance of the village.

Village Board Meetings
The Village Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m at the Village Meeting Room 3 Firehouse Ave. Meetings are open to all Village Residents!
The Zoning Board meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
The Planning Board meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Bill Payment Options:
You may now access, view bills, and make payments online 24 hours 7 days a week.
Click on Pay Bill Online under the Quick Links .
If this is your first time viewing your account online, you will need to register under the Member Registration screen.
The Municipal Code is: DresdenNY144
You will need your account number which is located middle right side of your bill or please contact the office during office hours for your information.
After you register or log into your account, click on the Bill & Pay tab.
Here you will be able to view all your bills, payments, and make payments to your account.
There is a $3.00 fee per $100.00 owed.
You may sign up to have your bill automatically withdrawn from your checking or saving account each month.
You will still receive a monthly paper bill card in the mail unless you choose to go paperless and receive your bill online.
Paperless bill cards benefit the environment and lowers costs.
Please contact the office during office hours for more information for this option.
You can also make payments in person at 3 Firehouse Ave Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 2 pm. Or leave in the Drop Box located to the left of the Office door.

Volunteers Needed!!
The Dresden Fire Department is always looking for volunteers to join the department. Volunteers are the life blood of our community, we have volunteers in the Village serving in the fire department, serving as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTS), First Responders, members of the Village Boards and serving the community through our Churches, the Masons and the Duck Club. You will find a great deal of satisfaction helping your fellow citizens by contributing time to these organizations.
